Up and up
We keep on climbing
Day to day
We keep on striving
There's much more to life
Than a nine to five
There's a big wide world
We've got to open our eyes
Fall straight off the wagon
Routine is a drag
We always take for granted
All the things that we have
We always think we know
What was good
And what's bad
Certain situations
Got us ecstatic
Or feeling sad
Then we straight feeling mad
When the tables have turned
Too many fingers in hot pies
Red hands getting burned
So many lessons never learned
Then we paying the price
Should of listened to those lessons
Should of took that advice
But we hard headed
Stuck in our own mentalities
Got our own points of view
Our own take on reality
Day to day tragedy
And broken hearts
But those who clock the game plan
Still laugh the last laugh
Because life's hard
But based on the choices we make
We sign or own destiny
Deliver our own fate
Like tubs of play-doh
We mould manipulate
Dig deep
Work hard

Monday to Sunday

Weeks fly by
We wonder where to begin
We wonder where will it end
Because the story's not written
And for every different person
There's a very different ending
We create our own stories
Write our own plots
Is yours shallow
Like a plant with no roots
Stuck in a pot
Or is your fairytale deep
Like a redwood tree
Spreading your roots
Making links for many centuries
Life's mysteries
Could never be written in ink
We debate and contemplate
But life's deeper than we think
Religion and heritage
Culture and tradition
In every different place
Their teaching
Very different lessons
Some reach for weapons
Others reach for the pen
Because we can fight like enemies
Or rejoice like friends
But in the end
Mother nature
Will provide for her children
Because the world keeps spinning
So we got to keep living
Open eyes
Open mind
Seek and you'll find
A penny for your thoughts
So let's mortgage your mind
Although this fast life
Seems to have lost it's relevance
The wonder of the human heart
Remains immense
We can contemplate
Science and technology
But who can explain these emotions
Inside of me
Planets spin in orbit
Tangents three sixty degrees
We all stuck inside
The cycle of society
How can we break the chains
How can we step outside the box
Some people holding all the keys
But they still can't find the locks
