Mind Notes Pt.62 'Tip My Hat'

Off the beaten track
Pack my bag
And tip my hat
Had enough
Of the fake pop
Hip hop
On a next trip
That's where we're at
So get off my cloud
I'm loud and proud
I see the silver lining
They say it's about the talent
But it's all about the timing

Hello hello
Who's looking
Hello hello
What's cooking
I'll have some pudding
Extra custard
Old school
Diamond geezer
Mustard
Came from the era
Childhood bliss
Nowadays these youths
Taking the...
Hit and miss
Still shoot for the target
But can't see the trees
Through the woods
And the darkness
Back up
Back up
Take another look
Don't miss it
Pack up
Pack up
Run to the sun
With our wishes
We know
We know
That the end is near
And the future
Is far from certain
So we live on a wing
And a prayer
We wake each day
And meet each person

Ok ok
What's happening
Ok ok
Back to rapping
Crazy creating
Mad innovation
Stay left field
Philosophers debating
Came from the days
Truths still spoken
Nowadays token
Promises broken
Mind still open
Avoiding the box
Keys to the city
Can't find the locks
Hold up
Hold up
Marvel at the martian army
Hold up
Hold up
Speak peace
Because the world too narly
We know
We know
That love still exists
We believe
And dig a little deeper
So hope for the best
And plan for the worst
Keep moving
On to the future

Alright alright
Still here now
Alright alright
Fight fear now
At the end of the tunnel
Search for the light
In a world full of wrong
It's hard to do right
Is the future bright
Or is the future bleak
Living day by day
And week by week
They say the meek
Inherit the earth
But the game's been fixed
Since the day of my birth
Stand up
Stand up
Here's my two cents
Take it and count it
Stand up
Stand up
Seek freedom
Search until we've found it
We know
We know
That justice
Lives and breathes
In the hearts of the people
So we light the flames of truth
We carry the torch
And burn down evil

Mind Notes Pt.61 'Forgotten In The Morning'

One two
Skip a few
Clap Clap
Everybody's got a story
Holla back
What's the moral of the story
It's all forgotten in the morning

Pray tell another fable
Listen
Some end in tears
Some end in kisses
Might be a cool guy
Out with the Mrs
Or might be a scallywag
Up to dodgy business
Before the great escape
A cheeky wink
I seen them in the newspaper
They in the clink
Blink
And you might just miss it
Get caught slipping
The real hustle is real
That'll do
Run with the wolves
Sleep with the fishes
Saving the pounds
Spending pennies on wishes
Pandora's box
Got flipped tipped open
Hope left out
And the dreams got broken
Token words
Are spoken daily
Perceptions hazy
Mindset crazy
Pushing up the daisy's
If your not careful
Tsunami ripples
From tear drop pebbles

Might be another daydream
Dreaming
Might be a real plan
Might be scheming
Might be leaving
Pack up the suitcase
Or lost with the squirrels
A certified nut case
Red lights
Don't stop
They on the run
Business
Up in the car
They got a gun
Are the really gonna' kill him
Did he have it coming
Or an innocent victim
You choose
Judge and the jury
Think clearly
Or blind blind fury
Man made jewellery
Alcoholic potions
Rock and roll dole
Million pound mansions
People mention
Hate for snitches
But honours lost
They'll take your riches
Will we live
To tell this story
Will we live
To see the morning

Mind Notes Pt.60 'Road To Nowhere'

They said I'd never do it
But I did it my way
They said I'd never make it
So I hit the highway
Road to nowhere
Shooting stars
Tie my laces
Scribble bars
Run along
And sing some songs
We'll show the world
Just who we are

Controller
We're clear for landing
Come through
With the 83 man them
Through the darkness
Love's still standing
Move towards light
Hate we abandon
Foreign extra
Pop the yellow top
Cab to the front door
Roads on top
And its all day long
It don't stop
So we stick to the codes
Because we know
What's what
Gold leaf
On my water receptacle
Watch a scholar at work
It's a spectacle
Ten steps ahead
They say I'm sceptical
But the forces are strong
It's exceptional
We forget them all
The signs flashing
No time for talk
It's straight action
Faded Levis
Lean back in
Built from sterner stuff
No crack in

More time
So we make the most of it
More life
So we sit and toast to it
Feel the wheel spin
When the car move
Scope the horizon
Caught in a groove
It's a journey
I pledge my life to
But no telling
When life might bite you
So it's all in
Full house or bust
Odds seem shaky
Gamble a must
With a smile I embrace the day
But time tick too fast
Keep running away
Always something to say
They keep hating
But I'm off
On a tangent debating
Innovating
Classic elements
Spit relevance
Escape the tenements
Escape the clutches
Of ancient ignorance
Dust off the truth
Share out the remnants

Mind Notes Pt.59 'Everybody Sing'

Everybody sing
Reggae is a big ting'
Everybody sing
Hiphop's a big ting'
Everybody sing
Soul is a big ting'
Everybody sing
Music is the real ting'

Been holding it down since 99'
With a pen and a pad
And 16 lines
Skanka'
Bass line
Caught in a groove
I was born to rhyme
Memorising mesmerising tunes
Straight from the old school
Put the needle on the record
I was taught just what to do
Youths these days on an iPhone
Shuffle through the latest playlist
What happened to those vinyls
Put them in their paper cases
Music was the soundtrack
To my childhood
All those places
See I was spinning records
Before I learnt to tie my laces
Back when an album was an album
And a single was a single
Never heard of internet
Hit the club
Go out and mingle
The DJ was the master of the dance
He had the jingles
Feel the bass line
Floating through the dance
Your body tingle
It used to be all innocent
Radio pop
Now theres too much talk
About shotting on blocks
And holding glocks
So we let the record drop
And turn the clock back
To golden years
Alleviate the pressures
And the fears
It's all good here

Game ain't the same
These days
It's all about earning
Euros
Dollars
Sterling
Everybody yearning
Live the dream
Chasing paper
Ain't what it seems
Say what I mean
My words hold weight
I don't rap about
Holding weight
And I don't rap about
Cars and chains
There's more to life
Let's talk and debate
Step to the plate
And play our part
The theatre of
Our hopes and dreams
Reciting lines behind the scenes
Darts of knowledge
Lazer beams
Life and death
And in between's
A fairytale without the morals
Music help's us tell our story
Music helps us drown our sorrows
Music helps us wake tomorrow
Calm the storm
And meditate
Lift us up when times are low
The rhymes and flows appreciate
Inspire and innovate
Break and build
And mimic this
Imagination limitless
I'll take a breath and finish this
Last few lines
Spill out my mind
Then come with the chorus
Skanking time
These raps are far from filler fodder
There's heart and soul
In every line
There's heart and soul in every rhyme
The music gives me strength to breathe
The music gives me strength to speak
I love this game
I'll never leave

Mind Notes Pt.58 'Inspired Rhymes'

I write a rhyme
I feel a vibe
I get inspired
I feel inspired
So inspired

Musical mystic
Gets me higher
So high
Sky high
So high

Write everyday
Rhyme everyday
Bring the drums
And bring the guitar
Come and let the keyboard play
We always got so much to do
We always got so much to say
We'll always find another groove
We'll always find another way
Trying to catch those melodies
Trying to find some different flows
Jumping down the rabbit hole
We'll improvise
See how it goes
Trying to find the perfect rhythm
Then compose the perfect beat
Then compose the perfect rhymes
For all my thinkers in the streets
There's too much hating
Seems to me we need more focus
Need more loving
Need more progress
Otherwise this life is hopeless
So I choose to live through music
There for me
My saviour
Far away it carries me away
Then brings me back to nature
Music's always been the cornerstone
It's been the bedrock
Guaranteed to get me going
Always makes my head knock
Always keep it hiphop
Beats rhymes and life
Strictly positive vibrations
As long as I'm alive

Here today
Still here tomorrow
Born to rhyme and keep in time
On beats we build
And beats we borrow
Drown my sorrows
Rise me up to higher heights
And levitate
Inspiration from the sounds
That spin around
We meditate
Never time to hesitate
The clock don't stop
It's always ticking
Recognise that life is short
We make the most and keep on riffing
Cooking up storms in mental kitchens
Searching, Working
Keep it different
Work it, Earn it
Live it, Learn it
Perfect track become the mission
People listen
Others don't
Depends on how you float your boat
We just keep on riding waves
And keep the music cruise afloat
Any time or any place
On any beat at any pace
It's one for all and all for one
So we don't need no poker face
This ain't a race
We ain't out
To hang no medals on our neck
We do this for the love of music
Always keep our self respect
We always keep ourselves in check
Remember where we're coming from
As long as we're alive and well
There'll always be another song

No days off
Keep it moving
Keep consuming food for thought
And scrutinise
The beats we're choosing
Track to track
And day to day
And no two days can be the same
We never know
Just where it goes
Thats why we choose to play the game
Inspiration from all angles
Neural pathways caught in tangles
Life moves fast
We're holding handles
Live and die
We're lighting candles
On the mantle piece
Some bits and pieces to remember me
Scribble down rhymes
From my times with these melodies
The beats seem to stick to me
They speak to me in different ways
They got me on some different waves
With different flows
On different days
Black and white
And different shades
I'm here and there and everywhere
Day and night
Wrong or right
My words up in the atmosphere
Music really got me here
It really did deliver me
All throughout my darkest times
The music was my remedy
The music was the recipe
The only thing that never fail
From my birth until my death
The music is the holy grail
