I'm drowning in my sorrow
I'm caught up in today
But if I dream
And if I wake
Will my sorrows

Watching shadows
Sunbeams
Long afternoons
Sirens outside
But soul songs fill the room
Escape doom and gloom
We live to have and hold
Ageless and perfect
Like diamonds and gold
If there's angels
They admire our songs it's clear
They're peering down
See us struggling down here
Trying to resist
Seduction and myth
Hearsay and rhetoric
Consumed in a mist
Certain days our sorrow
Seem to creep
And grab a hold
So we sleep
Dream
And see what tomorrow holds
Fairtales unfold
For people living fantasies
But it's a nightmare
On planet Earth
For casualties
Some people feel at ease
Some never see it coming
Others live it every day
Sick to the stomach
But it's balance
We've got to count blessings
Wonder what the universe
Brings in the morning


Spiralling
Wildly
Out of control
Sometimes I think my mind
Is spinning out of control
Because thoughts escape me
A million miles an hour
Trying to scribble down thoughts
Trying to find the willpower
Because the grind
Grinds daily
Weighing me down
Trying to grin and bear it
Trying to hide the frown
But it's a hard task
And it's a big ask
I'm getting frustrated
How long can this last
People trying to hate
Trying to mess with me
Trying to mess
With my financial stability
Do I have the ability
To turn the other cheek
Keep biting my tongue
Week after week
Getting mixed messages
In this mixed up mirage
Trying to struggle with the fight
Between my brain
And my heart
Hope my brain still tick
And my heart still beat
Try find some peace
So my soul can breathe
